FULL TIME | South 2–1 Uni 🔴⚪️
South battled to three points in an end-to-end encounter, combining clinical finishing with a strong defensive display.
Stuart Martin opened the scoring on 25 minutes after South kept the ball alive in the final third. Ben McManus set up Charlie Stewart, whose delivery to the back post was expertly headed in at the near post by Martin.
Half-time substitute Ryan Findlay made an immediate impact, beating his man down the right and delivering for McManus, who was brought down inside the box. Kenny O’Brien calmly converted the penalty on 49 minutes to double South’s advantage.
The Uni pulled one back with 15 minutes remaining, their number six volleying home from the edge of the box after a corner wasn’t cleared.
South defended well throughout an open contest, dealing with the long balls and the Uni’s attacking threat. With the visitors pushing for an equaliser, South stood firm, showing the organisation and determination needed to see out the game and secure all three points! 👏
