Edinburgh South 1–4 Heriot-Watt

A disappointing evening for South after our recent good form.

We started brightly and deservedly took the lead when Shaun Lamont powered home from distance. Further chances followed, but credit to Heriot-Watt who worked their way back into the game, capitalising on a loose backpass to equalise before another defensive lapse saw us go into the break 2–1 behind.

South regrouped and applied pressure after the restart, but a gilt-edged chance to draw level went begging before the visitors struck on the counter to make it 3–1. We couldn’t find a response, and Heriot-Watt sealed the win with a fourth late on.

A tough night and a reminder of the standards needed. The challenge now is to learn from it and respond in our next game.
