Match Report Mens U20s - Tynecastle

🔴 FULL TIME | Edinburgh South U20s 6–3 Tynecastle U20s

Another big three points for the young South as we maintained our good early season form with a nine-goal encounter at Holyrood! 👏

South started brightly, with Sam striking the post and Sully going close from distance before the breakthrough arrived in bizarre circumstances. Shaun Lamont charged into a challenge and sent the ball sailing over the keeper from 50 yards. He claims he meant it, but we’re not convinced! 😂

Tynecastle responded quickly, taking advantage of a lapse in concentration to equalise with a good finish from the edge of the box.

South regained control and, after a few half chances, restored the lead through the electric Sully, who continued his impressive form by smashing into the top corner from 25 yards. Just before the break, JC won possession high up the pitch and squared for Sam to calmly slot under the keeper.

HT: South 3–1 Tynecastle

The visitors started the second half quickly, but South responded with a fourth on the break. Great pressing from Joey and Sully created the opening for Joey to tap home.

Our fifth followed when the ball broke after a set piece and Sam calmly chipped it back into the box for JC to head home.

A frantic five-minute spell saw Tynecastle pull two goals back, first from the penalty spot and then after a long ball caught us out, bringing the score back to 5–3.

South kept their composure and sealed the points with a devastating counterattack. JC and Joey combined to release Sam, who made no mistake to grab his second of the evening.
