Match Report - Womens Rec Team - Haddington Athletic

❤️⚽ 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝟱–𝟮 𝗛𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗢𝗡 ⚽❤️

🍀 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗬 𝗡𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟱! 🍀

First things first, a HUGE thank you to our new sponsor, 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗵, who have very kindly kitted us out with brand-new red kits and training jumpers! ❤️ We are incredibly grateful for your support. We promise to keep the team caffeinated when needed! ☕😉 Cafe Edinburgh

Now, was it the new kit, our fifth game of the season, or simply the fact that we scored five goals? Or our captain, number 5, Tracy in goals ? Whatever the reason, the number 𝟱 was definitely our lucky number today!

We started strongly, sticking to our usual formation and keeping Haddington pinned back early on. However, just six minutes in, a well-executed set piece from a throw-in saw Haddington take the lead. Plenty of time to turn things around, though!

And if we're talking numbers and coincidences, what better way to respond than in the ninth minute, when our number 9, Cat, found the back of the net with a beautiful equaliser! That was the spark we needed, and we really found our rhythm from there. 🙌

We started dictating the game, creating some lovely passages of football and putting together some great attacking moves. Nago took us into the lead, and just before half-time, Ciara and Nago struck again to give us a solid 4–1 advantage going into the break.👌

A few changes brought on some fresh legs, and we were ready to go again. The message was simple: treat it like 0–0 and keep doing what we're doing.

And we certainly did! Beautiful runs, clever passes and brilliant communication between players made for some genuinely lovely football. It was just a joy to watch. Ciara grabbed another goal to make it five, and we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves out there.😊

But Haddington weren't giving up without a fight. They created several chances of their own and managed to find the net once more. Still, we weren't to be stopped today!

🏆 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗘: 𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝟱–𝟮 𝗛𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗢𝗡! ❤️

Lucky number five strikes again!

Have we finally turned the corner? Probably... and hopefully! 😉 Either way, let's enjoy this feeling tonight. A fantastic team performance and plenty of reasons to smile.

A big thank you to Haddington for making the trip. Always a pleasure, and we'll see you on the pitch again soon!
