🗒️ Match Report Edinburgh South 4 - 3 Polbeth

Edinburgh South finally got the result their performances have deserved, securing their first league win in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 4–3 victory over Polbeth.

South started the match on the front foot and dominated much of the first half, moving the ball well and creating several promising chances. The pressure eventually paid off when Nago opened the scoring, finishing confidently to give South a deserved lead. Polbeth managed to find an equaliser before the break, however, meaning the teams went into half-time level at 1–1 despite South’s strong display.

The second half brought even more drama — and one truly unforgettable moment.

With the game finely balanced, Salomé produced a moment of magic for her much-anticipated first goal for South. Spotting the keeper off her line, she unleashed an absolute screamer from inside her own half, sending the ball soaring into the net in spectacular fashion. A goal worthy of the occasion and one that will live long in the memory.

South continued to push forward and were rewarded again when Gaelle added a third with a composed finish. As Polbeth fought back to keep the contest alive, Ciara stepped up to score South’s fourth and ultimately decisive goal in what became a tense end to the match.

A huge thank you goes to Kirsty, who stepped up to play in goal and did a fantastic job. Her composure and quality of delivery from the back helped South build attacks and kept the team calm during key moments of the game.

Finally, a special mention for Agne, who was missed on the sidelines, but the team were determined to deliver the birthday win she asked for on her 40th — and they did exactly that.

A huge team performance, plenty of goals, and a first league win on the board for Edinburgh South. 💪🏼🔴⚪️
