🗒️And the Win Goes to… the Wind! 🌬️

**Edinburgh South 1 – 2 Swifts**

We normally don’t like to say *unlucky*… but today really did feel like one of those days.

From the first whistle, Edinburgh South were playing some really good football and dominating large parts of the game. We took an early lead and, with the way we were playing, it felt like we could really kick on from there.🙏

But the goals just weren’t coming.

We created chance after chance, kept pushing and kept trying, but it seemed the ball simply didn’t want to find the back of the net. Still, the girls didn’t let that get to them. They kept their heads up, kept playing their football and went into half-time **1–0 up**.🙌

We continued to work hard, create opportunities and play some fantastic football. Unfortunately, football can be cruel, and after an unfortunate rebound, Swifts score 🙈Suddenly, all the good work felt like it had been wiped away.

But South didn’t stop.💪

We kept battling, kept looking for that next goal and gave everything we had. Then came the moment that summed up the afternoon perfectly. A Swifts shot from almost the halfway line looked harmless enough… until the wind decided to get involved. 🌬️

There wasn’t much time left to find our way back into the game, and despite one final push, it just wasn’t meant to be today.🫣

Gutted? Absolutely.

Because the scoreline really doesn’t tell the story of how well South played. 🫶 We played good football, created chances, worked hard and never stopped pushing. Sometimes you can do so much right and still walk away without the result you deserve.

A huge shout-out to **Cat**, who, despite feeling unwell all week, stepped in between the sticks and did an absolutely amazing job. What a performance and what a commitment to the team. 👏

And another big shout-out to our newbies **Lizzie, Rosa, Ruth and Arina**, who are slowly finding their feet and growing into the team with every game. Keep going girls- you’re doing brilliantly! 💪

So, South, heads up. There is plenty to be proud of today.👏
