Womens League 25/26 new Format

The Scottish Womens Football League has been formatted into 4 leagues for the new season, i.e. SWFL North, SWFL East, SWFL Central/West, and SWFL South.
Edinburgh South Women will play in the SWFL East Division again in Season 2025/26 albeit with a much changed opposition.
New for this season in the SWFL East are Bayside, HCF Women, Loanhead Miners, Murieston United, and Thornton Hibs.
They are re-joined by SWFL East stalwarts Danderhall Miners, Edinburgh University Thistle, Musselburgh Windsor, and Penicuik Athletic bringing the total to 10 teams for the new season.
The full SWFL East list of teams is as below
Bayside, Danderhall Miners,, Edinburgh South, Edinburgh University, HFC Community, Loanhead Miners, Murieston United, Musselburgh Windsor, Penicuik Athletic, Thornton Hibs
Full promotion and relegation will continue this season between the Scottish Women’s League One and the regional leagues via end of season play-offs. At the season’s conclusion, the four SWFL champions will meet in two play-offs for two spots in Scottish Women’s League One.
League games will commence on 28 September.
Edinburgh South will also play in a Regional League Cup again this season with groups of 5 teams playing 4 teams once home or away beginning this weekend with Edinburgh South's first game on 24th August. The top three in each group progress to the Regional League Cup knockout stage, with the remaining teams entering the Regional League Plate.
Edinburgh South will Play in SWFL East Group 3 alongside Danderhall Miners, Edinburgh University Thistle, Musselburgh Windsor, and HCF Women.
To begin the season, Edinburgh South will play Cumbernauld United Ladies in the Scottish Cup Preliminary Round 1 on 17th August.
