📋 Match Report: Murieston United 2 – 0 Edinburgh South CFC
💨 Just back from another wildly windy night on the pitch - and what a frustrating one it was. The conditions felt like Murieston had a 10th player- the wind 🙈, and despite giving everything, the result just didn’t fall our way.
The first half ended 0–0, with the team looking solid, composed, and very much in the game. We battled well, stayed organised, and created promising moments despite the elements.
Then came a turning point: a soft free kick awarded on the edge of the box. In the wind, the ball carried just over and in- completely against the run of play. 🫣 Still, the girls responded brilliantly, pushing forward, creating chances, and showing real fight. We were unlucky not to get the breakthrough. 😞
A second long, looping strike later on found the net too- another one the wind helped on its way- and suddenly we had a mountain to climb. 🥹 The game grew more physical, and unfortunately Ciara went down after a heavy challenge. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious- we’ll keep everyone updated.🤞
Despite the result, this was another strong performance and a huge learning experience. Every single one of the players gave absolutely everything today. We’re proud of the effort, the attitude, and the resilience. 💪❤️
It’s our first season together and first in the competitive league- every match is a lesson. We’ll reflect, adapt, and keep improving, whether that’s dealing with wider pitches, smaller goals, or just those unpredictable Scottish winds!🫶
Great things ahead. Hold those heads high. Well done, all of you! 👏👏👏🥰
