We’re delighted to confirm that Yassine Chakiry has signed a contract extension with the club 🤝

Yass has been with Edinburgh South since the U12s, progressing all the way through the age groups and consistently shining as one of the standout talents. That journey has now seen him become a key figure in the first team this season.

The young, versatile defender has made 19 starts and 2 appearances from the bench, registering 1 assist and playing his part in 4 clean sheets so far.

Comfortable at full back, capable on the wing, and even stepping in at centre half when needed, Yass has shown his quality across multiple positions. Technically excellent, he’s confident in possession and has a real ability to beat players 1v1, using his pace and close control to create opportunities and drive the team forward.

His pace is a huge asset, and his determination and attitude set the standard every week, highlighted by a standout performance yesterday that earned him Man of the Match.

We’ve seen massive growth from Yass both on and off the pitch this season, and we’re excited to see that continue in the seasons ahead.
