What a game in the RJM Sports League Cup.

South were rocked early on and found themselves 3–0 down inside 20 minutes. Fletcher pulled one back with a sharp first-time finish to spark a response, but Arniston struck again just four minutes later to make it 4–1.

The fightback began before the break. Ciaran Vaughan fired home a brilliant finish from Kenny O’Brien’s drilled free-kick, before Kenny O’Brien converted from the spot after Murray Connolly was brought down to make it 4–3 at half time.

The second half brought fewer goals but no shortage of intensity as both sides went toe-to-toe. The equaliser finally arrived when Adam Uphill smashed home a rebound from a corner to score his first goal for the club and level the match at 4–4.

That meant penalties, where South held their nerve. Lewis Whitelaw produced a huge moment by saving an Arniston penalty, before Kenny O’Brien, Shane Majekodunmi, Ciaran Vaughan, Murray Connolly and Kieran Swanson all converted. Swanson fired home the decisive kick to send South through 5–3 on penalties.
