Heartbreak at Paties Road as South exit the South Challenge Cup following a seven-goal thriller.

Kenny O’Brien opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Bellshill equalised. South responded immediately, with O’Brien’s deflected free-kick restoring the lead, but two further Bellshill goals sent the visitors into half-time 3-2 ahead.

South fought back after the break and Lewis Bushnell reacted quickest to another deflected O’Brien free-kick to make it 3-3.

Both sides pushed for the winner, with O’Brien denied a hat-trick by a vital save in the 90th minute. Bellshill then found the decisive goal from a corner in the 93rd minute to progress.
