FULL TIME | Oakley United 2-5 Edinburgh South U20s

A brilliant performance from start to finish from our young side tonight.

South started on the front foot, pressing aggressively and creating a number of early openings. Despite a few half chances, it was Oakley who struck first after 15 minutes on the break.

The response was excellent. Great work down the wing from Shane set up Joey to tap home the equaliser, before South deservedly took the lead through a superb finish into the corner from Sam Forsyth.

South continued to dominate but were dealt a sucker punch right on half time, as Oakley levelled despite a clear foul in the build up. 2-2 at the break.

The second half was all South.

The intensity went up another level and the chances kept coming. Brilliant play from Sam and JC teed up Shane who fired home emphatically into the top corner. JC then got his reward for relentless pressing, winning the ball high up before calmly finishing.

Josh added the fifth with a brilliant solo effort, beating two men before slotting past the keeper.

A late red card for Oakley capped off the night as South saw the game out in control.
