šļø Match report: Arniston 0ā1 Edinburgh South
āļøIt was a bit of a strange feeling stepping onto the pitch while it was still daylight- but something weāll probably need to get used to⦠just like winning! š
š¦ļøThe weather couldnāt quite make up its mind either- one minute the sun was shining, the next it was hailing. To add to the chaos, even the referee got the day mixed up! š But after a short delay and their eventual arrival, we finally kicked off under the Bonnyrigg lights. š
With a number of illnesses and injuries in the squad, we had to be flexible with our approach. We started with a solid 3-3-2 formation, keeping things compact and controlled- and it worked brilliantly. š Both sides created chances in the first half, but it was us who made ours count. After an unfortunate bounce from Arniston goal keeper, we were quick to reactāand the ball was in the back of the net! š
We went into half-time with a well-earned lead. šŖA quick team talk followed, with one clear message: stay focused and switched on.
The second half showed exactly what this team is about. Composed, organised, and in control. š Both teams continued to push, creating chances and testing the goalkeepers. A special mention goes to Alessia, who was outstanding- pulling off crucial saves and distributing the ball brilliantly to keep us moving forward.šš¤©š
Itās a great feeling, isnāt it? šš¤©šThe teamwork, the belief- itās all coming together. Teamwork really does make the dream work, and weāre seeing that pay off now. š«¶ Mon the South š“āŖļø
Well done to Arniston for a strong game, and best of luck for the rest of the season! š
