šššWhat a way to end the season ā Edinburgh South 2ļøā£-2ļøā£ Haddington! ā½š„
First of all, what an amazing experience this season has been. Our very first competitive season, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved- organisers, players, supporters, and all the people behind the scenes who helped make it happen. We truly appreciate every single one of you. š
Now, about the gameā¦
End of season football means injuries, tired legs, and very low numbers- but that didnāt stop us. One thing this team has shown all season is that we stand strong and never give up.
We started the game safe, controlled, and composed. Both sides created chances, but we were the first to make it count after an absolute beauty from SalomĆ© from the edge of the box! šā½
We knew we had to stay tight, but after a couple of dangerous counterattacks, Haddington found an equaliser from a corner scramble. 1-1 at half-time. š¬
We knew a draw was enough for us- but Haddington wanted more. They came out strong in the second half, and so did we. We adjusted things in the middle of the pitch and trusted the plan, but suddenly we found ourselves watching the ball hit the back of our net. 2-1 down⦠and now we were chasing the game.
10 minutes to go⦠could we pull this off?
Of course we could. šŖ
After a calm and clinical finish from Ciara, we were level again at 2-2! The final minutes felt endless, but then came the whistle- full time, a draw! š ššš
A great game and huge thanks to Haddington for hosting us. Looking forward to hopefully arranging some friendlies over the summer! š¤āļøš«¶
To sum up the season:
First half of the season:
ā 3 losses
š¤ 3 draws
Second half of the season:
ā 3 wins
ā 2 losses
š¤ 1 draw
Finishing 4th in the league ššš
We call that improvement. š š
Well done to every single player. What weāve achieved together is amazing, and it feels like weāve built something special here. Letās keep it that way and push on to next season! ā¤ļøā½
