Mens Team Match Report - Thornton Hibs

A tough one to take at full time for South.

A poor first half saw Thornton Hibs control possession and create the better chances. Ryan Findlay came closest for South, intercepting a back pass and rounding the keeper, but his effort from a tight angle came back off the post. Thornton eventually took the lead just before the break, heading home from a corner.

South came out much brighter in the second half. Stuart Martin fired just over the bar, and moments later Ryan Findlay saw another effort blocked. The pressure continued to build as Aido struck the post and the Thornton keeper produced a smart save to deny Stuart Martin at the back post.

Despite a strong second-half performance, South couldn’t find a way through as Thornton’s defence stood firm.

All the best to Thornton Hibs in the next round.
