Cowdenbeath Central 0–1 Edinburgh South

South book their place in the King Cup 4th Round with a hard-fought away victory.

We started on the front foot and created a few early chances inside the opening 10 minutes, unlucky not to make the breakthrough. Cowdenbeath Central grew into the game and tested us, forcing two outstanding saves from Lewis Whitelaw – first from a curling effort, then a brilliant reaction stop from a deflected free kick.

The first half was cagey, but South came out firing again after the break and got the goal our play deserved. Ryan Findlay grabbed his first goal for the club, showing great determination to get a second bite at the cherry and fire us ahead.

The hosts defended resolutely in a stop-start second half and limited us to half chances, before throwing everything forward in the final 10 minutes. An assured and organised South defence stood firm to see the game out and secure a massive win on the road.
