Match Report Mens Team - Heriot-Watt University

Defeat at home this afternoon as South fall to a 2–1 loss against Heriot-Watt University.

The game was evenly contested for large spells, but just before the break the visitors took the lead after Ben’s clearance was caught by the wind, allowing the Watt attacker to capitalise with a clinical finish.

South had chances to get back into it, but the students doubled their advantage when the ball couldn’t be cleared to safety and the striker made no mistake for his second of the game.

South kept pushing and were rewarded late on when Kenny O’Brien was brought down on the edge of the box. Kenny stepped up and unleashed a thunderous free kick that beat the Watt keeper, who had been outstanding throughout.

Despite sustained pressure in the closing stages, an equaliser wouldn’t come.
