Thoughts from our new U20s manager Jon Sergent
The U20 squad are looking forward to what is sure to be another exciting year in the highly competitive East of Scotland Development League. The players are keen to test themselves in a strong league and boast one of the youngest squads in the division.
We welcome a number of players from last season’s successful U18s cup-winning squad into the fold full-time, having given them experience with the team last season. We’re also excited to integrate some of our promising 2008 squad members, as they prepare to compete in the First Division with the U18s.
This season will be a valuable test for the squad as they look to embed themselves in the group and push for first-team contention, following the success of last year’s group, which saw several graduates earn permanent spots in the first-team squad.
Thoughts from U20s Player Conor Grealis
The boys are really looking forward to the season, especially with it being the first year at 20s for a lot of the squad. Personally, I’m aiming to build on last season after playing the majority of games and I’m keen to keep progressing.
The squad is looking strong, with some great additions coming in. Ramsay from Penicuik has looked sharp in pre-season, and two of our 08 lads, Josh and Riley, have really impressed as well.
Now we’re just buzzing to get the league campaign underway and push to finish as high up the table as possible.
